Tarrant County foreclosures down for June auction
Fewer Tarrant County homeowners face losing their homes in June compared with May, but the number of foreclosure filings is 40 percent higher than it was a year ago, according to Addison-based Foreclosure Listing Service.
For the June 2 Tarrant County auction, 1,642 postings have been filed. That’s an 11 percent drop from the 1,836 postings for the May auction.
The May figure, however, included many refilings by lenders who had begun foreclosure proceedings that were postponed by a moratorium on foreclosing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans.

Bunny Daze comes early in 2008!
The annual celebration hosted by the City of Burleson’s parks and recreation department is slated for Saturday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Burleson Community Center.
That is a change from the original date of March 15 which was publicized in the January/February Burleson Progress newsletter. The date was changed to March 8 so that Bunny Daze would not conflict with the Burleson Independent School District’s spring break.

Burleson Texas Info

Burleson, located 12 miles south of downtown Fort Worth, has become a commercial hub of Johnson County and one of the most livable communities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Founded in 1881, the city was named for Dr. Rufus C. Burleson, President of Baylor University at Waco. The official incorporation as a Town came in 1912. Burleson was made a "City" in 1938, and adopted a Home Rule Charter as a council-manager government in 1969. The City continued its growth during the 1940's and 1950's as an independent community located near Fort Worth. Over the years, Burleson has grown to a population of over 30,300 and continues to grow even now.
